It’s time to get ready for Texas Longhorn football! The No. 5 ranked Longhorns face off against the Texas State Bobcats on September 5 at Darrell K Royal – Texas Memorial Stadium. The season promises exciting football action and tailgating fun as UT Football hosts seven home games with an optional eighth game as a college football playoff game in December.
The Texas Facilities Commission is proud to offer UT Football tailgating and parking on State property near the university campus.

Game Day Public Parking Options
Parking at state garages in the Capitol Complex is pay upon entry. Pre-paid parking reservations are available in garages via LAZ Parking. State garages with public parking for the 2026 UT Longhorn Football season include:
State Garages A, E, and F – $40.00 Game Day rate per space
State Garage G – $75.00 Game Day rate per space.
State Garage J, the Capitol Visitor Garage – $25.00 Game Day rate per space.
Public Parking Lot (Lot 24) – $75.00 rate per space. Home game use only from 6:00 PM on the day before a home game to noon the day after the home game, or on Game Day. Parking is pay upon entry. Parking attendants will be present at each lot by the posted sign to begin selling parking permits at 6:00 PM the night before each home game.
Parking – North Complex, Park-n-Ride at JHW Building Lot 26 (located at 701 W. 51st St.) –
Paid First Come, First Served public parking is available for standard, RV, and oversize vehicles from 6:00 PM the day before a UT Football home game to noon the day after the game. A shuttle will be provided by UT to and from the stadium beginning 3 hours before the game until 1 hour after the game; drop-off/pick-up location at Dean Keaton and Robert Deadman Dr. Lot 26 does not have portable toilets, water, or utilities hook-ups.

Closed Garages
Closed STATE GARAGES for UT Issued Alumni Parking Permits Only – Neither State employees nor the public are permitted to utilize the following State garages without the proper UT issued parking permit:
- Garage B, located at 1511 San Jacinto Blvd.
- Garage Q, located at 1610 San Jacinto Blvd.
- Garage R, located at 1706 San Jacinto Blvd.
Gameday State Employee Parking Options and Guidelines
Capitol Complex employees with badge access are to use Garages T and W – These secure locations are for gameday use and those on travel status. Parking attendants are not on duty.
If not parking in Garage T or W, State employees are permitted one FREE parking space in State garages open to the public on a First Come, First Served basis. State employees are required to show the parking attendant a State of Texas employee ID for a FREE parking permit. DPS parking stickers on vehicles are not sufficient for free entry.
State Employee Personal Vehicles – Remove ALL State employee personal vehicles from ALL SURFACE PARKING LOTS in the Capitol Complex area, including the CSB back lots and the WBT loading dock by 6:00 PM each Friday before a UT Football Home Game.
State employees working on Friday past 6:00 PM and State employees expecting to be on travel status on UT Football home game weekends are required to relocate personal vehicles to either State Garage A, E, F, J, T, or W.
Capitol Complex employees with badge access are to use Garages T and W.
State-Owned Fleet Vehicles – State agency fleet vehicles should be parked INSIDE the secured fence area on the TOP level of Garage R. If not, they may also be relocated into Garage T by 5:00 PM each Friday. Do not park vehicles in other State garages or parking lots.
ALL State agency fleet vehicles assigned to surface parking lots, must be relocated to the secured fence area on the TOP level of Garage R or into Garage T by 5:00 PM each Friday before UT Football home games.
Oversized Agency Fleet Vehicles – State agency fleet vehicles assigned to State Lot 19 must be relocated to Garage R, Garage T, or Lot 22 by 5:00 PM each Friday. Please ensure “Field Staff” park in garages if traveling out of town on home gameday weekends.

Traffic Update
Capitol Complex streets will have increased traffic on all home football game days.
Traffic pattern changes and street closures will be set for one hour after kick-off times.
17th Street Closure – Scholz Garten will have a street closure on 17th St. from San Jacinto Blvd. to Trinity St. each gameday. The street will be barricaded and closed until after egress is complete.
18th Street Closure – 18th Street from San Jacinto Blvd. to Trinity St. will be closed 2-4 hours prior to kick-off. Vehicles will need to use alternate cross streets (MLK Blvd. and 15thSt.) once this circular traffic pattern begins.
Street closures will not directly impact access to State office buildings however, traffic will be heavy and employees should expect delays.

safe sidewalk routes around the construction zone.
CLOSED: North Side of 15th Street (next to the construction site). Use the crosswalks and sidewalk on the State Capitol side (south side of 15th Street).
CLOSED: East Side of Lavaca (next to the construction site). Use the crosswalk and sidewalk on the William P. Clements Jr. (WPC) Building side (west side of Lavaca).
CLOSED: South Side of 16th Street (next to the construction site). Use the crosswalk and sidewalk on the Garage E side (north side of 16th Street).
CLOSED: Colorado Street between 15th and 16th Streets. The street, sidewalks, and crosswalks, including the crosswalks across 15th and 16th Streets, are closed for the duration of the construction. To travel north and south, use the sidewalks on the west side of Lavaca Street or the covered sidewalk next to the Robert E. Johnson Building (REJ) building.
CLOSED: Congress Avenue between 15th and 16th Streets. Use the covered sidewalk next to the Robert E. Johnson Building (REJ) building. Cross 15th Street at Brazos Street.
