1501 Lavaca Concrete Pours

1501 Lavaca Level B2 Deck 5 Pour

Contract Manager-at-Risk JE Dunn continues concrete pours for the basement levels of the 1501 Lavaca State Office Building. The photo above shows all stages of the pouring process, including:

1

Pouring the concrete.

2

Screeding (leveling) with 2x4s and finishing the edge.

3

Floating the concrete with long-handled float tools to push the aggregate down and bring the finer materials to the top. This part of the process helps produce a leveled, durable surface.

4

Using trowel machines to create a smooth and level surface.

5

Completing the process with a broom finish to create a slip-resistant texture on the surface of the concrete.
